About us

What does The Cabinet Shop make?

Made-to-measure cabinets for the home: cupboards, alcove cupboards, bookcases, chests of drawers, wardrobes, dressers, TV units, media walls, wall units, meter cupboards and desks, plus made-to-measure doors and cut-to-size panels. Everything is made to order in our own workshop, from your design.

Who are you?

A small UK maker, founded in 2018, with a workshop at The Old Bakehouse, Ryes Lane, Hatfield Broad Oak, CM22 7BS. The team's backgrounds are in cabinet making, CNC engineering, design and customer support. The company is Cabinet Enterprises Ltd, registered in England (15057190).

Your cabinet

What sizes can I order?

Any size in each kind's range, to the millimetre. Most cupboards, bookcases and chests of drawers can be 300 to 2400 mm wide, up to 2400 mm high and 150 to 600 mm deep; media walls run from 2000 to 5800 mm wide. Every kind's range is in the table below.

What finishes are there?

Signature Colours, woodgrains, or paint-ready MDF. Signature Colours are pre-finished boards with matching edges, in colours such as Sage, Midnight Blue and Cashmere and woodgrains such as Country Oak and Natural Walnut. Paint-ready MDF is for painting yourself, in any colour. Free samples are available.

How much does a cabinet cost?

It depends on the size, layout, doors and finish, so every design is priced in the designer as you build it. Recent examples: a low double cupboard 1200 mm wide in paint-ready MDF with shaker doors cost £448; a double dresser 1000 mm wide and 2300 mm tall, £672; a media wall 2400 mm wide, £2,254. Prices include VAT; delivery is priced at checkout. There are more examples for every kind in the table below.

Ordering

How does ordering work?

Design your cabinet in the 3D designer on any product page: its size, layout, doors, handles and finish. Then either order and pay online, or submit it for a free design review, where our team checks it, answers your questions and sends a quote to approve and pay. Either way, we draw your cabinet up and you approve the drawings before anything is made.

What is a design review?

A free check of your design by our team before you pay: we review it and any notes or drawings you add, suggest changes and send an updated quote. If you then want us to develop the design in detail, a design commitment of 10% of the project is taken and deducted from the final price.

Can I get help with my design?

Yes, free. Our design team will help you plan the right layout for your space: call 0345 459 0540 or email office@thecabinetshop.co.uk.

Delivery and guarantee

How long does it take?

Most orders are despatched within four weeks of approval and payment; larger or more complex orders can take up to eight. The carrier then arranges a delivery day with you, usually within a week of despatch.

Where do you deliver, and how?

Across mainland UK, priced at checkout by size and weight. Smaller orders come by tracked courier; larger ones by a specialist two-person furniture carrier, to the nearest ground-floor point of access. Northern Ireland and Ireland are quoted separately. Cabinets arrive flat-packed, with step-by-step instructions, ready to assemble at home.

What guarantee do I get?

A 3-year guarantee on parts and labour.
